Hyundai recalls certain 2017 model year Elantra vehicles for replacement of brake system booster

On January 25, 2017, Hyundai Motor America announced it was recalling certain 2017 model year Hyundai Elantra sedans produced at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama beginning on September 12, 2016 through January 18, 2017. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Report indicates that as a result of a manufacturing issue, the diaphragm in the brake booster may unseat, resulting in a vacuum leak and reduction or loss in power brake assist. A malfunctioning brake booster could increase stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash. For more information on the affected vehicles and the nature of the recall, see
